Mr. Mohammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi, Chemical Engineer from Kuwait University, joined KNPC in 1987 and has over 28 years of experience in Kuwait Downstream Refining Industry in areas of Leadership, Operational Excellence, Technologies and Management.

His vast experience includes working in Senior Management as Deputy Managing Director of both Mina Al-Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah Refineries.

Mr. Al-Mutairi as CEO-KNPC, is responsible for managing the Kuwaiti Downstream Sector’s Domestic Refining and Gas Processing business.

He has vast experience in Operations Department and has worked as Manager Operations for both Shuaiba and Mina Al-Ahmadi Refineries.

Mr. Al-Mutairi is currently member of KNPC Board of Directors. Previously, he has been the Chairman of KPC holding company Aruba (KPI) and member of KOC’s (Kuwait Oil Company) and PIC’s (Petrochemical Industries Company) Board of Directors.

During his career he has played important Leadership role in leading the Company to implement mega projects viz. CFP (Clean Fuels Project), ZOR (Al-Zour Refinery) and LNGI (LNG Import). He has also implemented many innovative profit improvement ideas to enhance performance and systems to improve overall HSE Management in KNPC.
