Dhanin Chearavanont

Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont is Chairman and CEO of the Charoen Pokphand Group (CP), a Thai multi-national conglomerate that operates three core businesses in agro-industry and food, retail and telecommunications with over 300,000 employees and an annual turnover of USD 41 billion. CP’s agro-industry and food business entails feed production, livestock farming, processing, marketing and distribution with investments in 16 countries located in South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe. As the first foreign company in China, CP has in the course of over thirty years expanded from agriculture and food to retail, finance, automotive and pharmaceuticals for the local and export markets. CP had established a strategic alliance with Japan’s Itochu Corporation to expand its businesses in food and other integrated industries for China, Southeast Asia and other parts of the world.

As part of his endearing philosophy on development, Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont advocates the ‘3-Benefit Principle’ that reflects the leveraging of benefits to all stakeholders in a sustainable business enterprise, namely benefit to the country, the society and the company. He believes it to be CP’s guiding principle in its mission to be the “Kitchen of the World” to meet rising global demands for affordable quality foods.
