Teresita Sy-Coson is the Vice Chairperson of SM Investments Corp. (SMIC), one of the Philippines’ leading conglomerates. Known for growth, innovation and leadership, SMIC’s core businesses include retail, mall operations, banking and property development.

In retail, Ms. Sy-Coson oversees the growth of the business of SM Retail, which includes SM Department Stores, SM Supermarkets and other retail affiliates totaling 600 stores nationwide.

Ms. Sy-Coson also works closely with the Group’s mall operations via SM Prime Holdings, Inc. where she sits as an Adviser to the Board of Directors. SM Prime, to date, is the most dominant mall developer in the country.

Ms. Sy-Coson is also the Chairperson of BDO, currently ranked as the Philippines’ largest bank in terms of total assets, loans, deposits, capital and trust funds under management. BDO was recently named the Best Asian Bank for 2013 by FinanceAsia, a first-ever win for a Philippine bank.
